Eternal Sonata

Eternal Sonata is the latest RPG from Tri-Crescendo, starring – of all potential heroes – Frederic Chopin. Yes, that Chopin – the Poet of the Piano, the famous composer who tragically died of tuberculosis aged only 39. The game takes place inside his last dream, as he slips into a coma on his deathbed. Here, he meets a young girl called Polka, who is also affected by a terminal illness. In this imaginary world, people suffering in such a way are able to use magic, and Polka has the power to heal others. However, most people are afraid of catching her illness and avoid her, so she has no real friends.

Bleach: Shattered Blade

Luckily there’s a game coming to the US in October that will do just that: Bleach: Shattered Blade. Unfortunately, for fan and skeptic alike, this game is also an anime based fighting game. Can Bleach: Shattered Blade live up to or outdo its pseudo predecessor Budokai Tenkaiichi 2?

Zune 2 80GB MP3 Player

Zune 80 is one of Microsoft’s second generation portable video and audio players; also referred to as “Zune 2.” I have been really excited about Zune 2 because of the numerous articles online that praised it, pointing out the new and improved features, and saying that it was a big improvement over the first generation Zune. So, when Microsoft finally announced that they were going to release Zune 2 on November 13, I made up my mind to go and get one.

Super Mario Galaxy

In fact, just about the only clichéd thing about the game is the story – which is almost exactly the same as every other Mario title in existence: Mario’s love interest, Princess Peach, has been kidnapped by the evil Bowser, meaning that the plump plumber must embark upon an epic journey across many different locations filled with devious platforming challenges to save her. No surprises there. The twist is that this time, Bowser’s taken Peach into outer space, so Mario’s quest will require him to visit extraterrestrial venues.

Gears of War

The best summary of Gears of War that I've heard was quipped by one of my friends as we played it on my then brand-new Xbox 360: "Gears of War is the Hummer of videogames.” And that's true - everything about Gears of War is big, brash and 100% American.

Speedrunning: Chicks dig it

... In the article you may remember a certain type of gamer I called the challenge gamer. This was the gamer type that looks at a game and instead of seeing the game, sees a whole plethora of opportunities to set new challenges for themselves. There is one example of challenge gaming that sticks out in most people’s minds, and that is the topic of today’s little chat, speedrunning.
