IntroductionIn December I reviewed the original inMotion portable audio system (see this link: http://www.bonafidereviews.com/article.php?id=43), which has been on the market for several years and is still available from online retailers. I noted that “…it won’t fill an auditorium, [but] it will provide adequate sound volume in a small or midsize room, and the sound quality is amazing from such a tiny unit.” While I was impressed by the inMotion and how well it accomplished what it was designed to do, I noted several areas for possible improvement. I’m pleased to say that with the new redesigned inMotion3, Altec Lansing has improved the product even beyond what we asked for while retaining all of the things I liked in the original. The inMotion3 is a great product which will satisfy the needs of its target audience, primarily users of the Apple iPod portable music player, although it will work just fine with other players as well. At a list price of $180 and a street price of around $130, it is not cheap, but the quality will satisfy you when you want to share your music with others or un-tether yourself from your earbuds, and it looks cool as well!
