With all of the hype around HDTV's and the high definition market exploding as much as it is, it only seems natural that the home theater market is tailing along not far behind. Of course home theater systems have been around for years but with people buying up expensive big screen displays, most of which only come with "decent" speakers, it only makes sense that there is a want to buy a fancy new speaker system to really get the most out of the experience. Additionally, with modern gaming systems now supporting advanced 5.1 audio output, home theater systems can appeal to both gamers as well as movie/television fanatics. As digital audio and video technology advances we are beginning to see more and more sophisticated devices that go above and beyond their normal roles. For example, the main role of a television has been thought to be simply display a video signal. Well, as we saw with the Samsung LN-T4065, HDTV's now have the ability to read in USB storage devices and display photos and play audio. Today we are reviewing Samsung's HT-TX72 home theater system and it follows right in this path with the ability to read USB devices, play music from an iPod, control a Samsung Anynet+ enabled TV using its own remote and more. Oh, and it has a 5-disc changer that can read music CD's, DVD's, DVD-R's, and other generic discs that contain media types like MP3's, JPEG's, WMV and DIVX encoded movies. Gone are the days of just having to play sound out of 5.1 channels of speakers and here are the days of smart devices capable of multiple things including controlling other devices.
