After reviewing 1GB of Crucial's PC3200 Ballistix memory and 1GB of OCZ's Gold PC3200 memory we continue the trend of enthusiast RAM with 2GB of Corsair's PC4400 TWINX Pro Series memory. The keyword here is enthusiast as the TWINX comes in a 2GB package with a speed rating of 275MHZ (DDR550). Perhaps not today, but certainly in the near future (6-12 months) having 2 gigabytes of memory in a computer will be the standard. Not so long ago 512MB was considered a monstrous amount of memory and many clamored about who would ever need that much memory. Even way back in the day the big man himself (Bill Gates) said "You'll never need more than 4MB of RAM". Of course in hindsight 4MB was obviously not enough and 512MB really wasn't that absurd, especially with the way the gaming industry refuses to stop pushing our poor hardware to its limits. Today it is safe to say that 1GB is the new "512" and games like Doom 3, Quake 4, and many others will soon help us to realize that 2GB is going to be the new standard.
