Bona Fide?

A site that is actually unbiased in its reviews: Many sites today naturally tend to favor companies that send them the latest and greatest hardware first, and in turn have a more forgiving attitude when reviewing a particular product. While this relationship is beneficial to both web publication and manufacturer, it comes at the expense of the reader. The goal of Bona Fide Reviews is to provide accurate and honest reviews with you, the reader, in mind.

A site that tells you, the reader, exactly what you want to know about a product: Regarding hardware, we feel that the traditional, and popular, rating system which rates a product by using values is worthless to a reader. What exactly does an "8.5 out of 10" or a "4 out of 5" mean? In our eyes these arbitrary values are of no use to someone reading a review. Instead, each category of hardware will be given a set of qualities and each of those qualities will be described to the best of our abilities by using words, not numbers.

As for our game reviews, all too often well made games are under rated because reviewers mark them according to how much enjoyment they, personally, happened to gain from them. And because of this, despite the merits of their design, games such as these are consigned to a tiny audience. Obviously, subjective reviews such as these aren't always very useful. On the other hand, it's nice to know other people's opinions, if only to contrast them against your own.

Here at Bona Fide Reviews, we bring you the best of both worlds: games are broken down into several different categories and sub-categories, each of which has been carefully picked so that they can be marked in the most objective way possible. For instance, instead of saying that a game has a "good" or "bad" camera, we'll let you know how much of the time it lets you see where you're going and what you're doing. Then you can make up your own mind about how good it is with the facts.

However, games are also given an overall mark which reflects the reviewer's own preferences, so that you can see how they felt about each title. That way, you have both an objective and a subjective take on things. Of course, this means we have to put twice as much work into each review compared to most sites. But we're happy to do so, because we believe that it's the most beneficial for you, the reader.

A site that is backed by people born with a love for technology: We love technology and want to share it with the public. That's all there is to it.
